Answers to common questions about your cover.
What is Flight Delay Insurance?
Insurance against a delay to your flight, for your peace of mind, paying out an agreed lump sum in the event of a ‘wheels up’ delay of 3 hours or more. Having flight delay cover helps to take the pain and hassle out of being delayed.
Who is eligible to purchase Flight Delay Insurance cover?
UK residents over 18 years of age.
How does Flight Delay Insurance work?
We track your insured flight and establish whether your flight is departing 3 hours or more after the scheduled departure time. You don’t even have to claim from us. We do all the tracking, so we know when the 3-hour delay is triggered, and we send you a confirmatory email message. We make the payment to your designated UK bank account for any valid claim once you have confirmed the claim.
The lump sum benefit is paid quickly with no fuss and no hassle from having to make a claim.
How long will it be before I receive the lump sum benefit for being delayed 3 hours or more?
If you have registered your flight(s) and submitted your designated UK bank account details, straight away otherwise you will need to complete a claim form, and we will then schedule your payment accordingly.
What if I haven’t submitted my bank account details for a claim payment?
We will ask you for your UK bank account details when we send you a confirmation message to tell you that your flight has been delayed for 3 hours and that you are eligible for a payment.

How often can I purchase Flight Delay Insurance?
As often as you like, there is no limit to the number of flights for which you can buy cover or upgrade from single to return or annual multi-flight and/or increase the payment amount up to £500. If you plan to take several flights, you may want to consider an annual multi-flight policy which covers all flights within the designated policy period.
What happens if my flight gets cancelled after I became eligible for the 3-hour flight delay?
You will receive the lump sum delay payment if the flight is delayed by 3 hours or more before being cancelled by the airline.
Can I also claim compensation for delay from the Airline?
Under current legislation (UK/EU 261) it may be possible to claim from the airline depending on the circumstances of your flight delay. You will have to make a claim to the airline. There may be some stipulations, such as it is only paid if your flight is 3 hours late on arrival at your destination airport. Often an aircraft will make up time during the flight so that there is less likelihood of delay on arrival.
